Sweetwater - H. T. (Hack) Barton, 70, lifelong resident of Nolan, died at 1:30 p.m. Thursday at Simmons Memorial Hospital after a lengthy illness.

Services will be at 4 p.m. Saturday in Nolan Baptist Church. The Rev. Melvin Byrd, pastor, will officiate, assisted by the Rev. James L. Kinsey, former pastor. Burial will be in Nolan Cemetery under direction of Cate-Spencer Funeral Home.

Born Jan. 19, 1904 in Nolan, he married Annie Lane on Feb. 10, 1934 in Sweetwater. He was a retired farmer and was manager of the Planters Gin in Nolan for the last 15 years.

Survivors include his wife; one son, Harold Dan, of Clyde; two daughters, Mrs. Clayton Saunders of Abilene and Mrs. Arnold Finch of Sugar Land; four brothers, Nolan of Big Spring, A. A. of Levelland, C. W. of Nolan, and Paul of Dallas; six sisters, Mrs. Mae Hollowell of Abilene, Mrs. Ruth Bennick of Pampa, Mrs. Margaret Womack of Corpus Christi, Mrs. Lilah Modrall of Nolan, Mrs. Lillie Jordan of Anson and Mrs. Irene Helms of Hamlin, as well as seven grandchildren.
