Funeral services for Christine Everett 87, Athens have been scheduled for 3:00 P.M. Sunday at Carroll-Lehr Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Randy Jones officiating.
Burial will follow at Shelby Chapel Cemetery.
Mrs. Everett passed away Thursday in Athens.
Christine was born September 11, 1928 in Dallas to the late Nevett Monroe and Myrtle Estelle Baker Jackson. She was a lifelong resident of Murchison and a member of Ash Baptist Church. Christine served as treasurer for Shelby Chapel Cemetery Association for many years. She was a supervisor for Hollywood Vasserette for 5 years before going to work for Murchison Independent School District where she worked until retirement as a secretary for 25 years. She was a loving mother, grandmother and great-grandmother. She was an avid reader. She loved to watch Texas Ranger Baseball and eat Blue Bell Ice Cream.
She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, Ben Everett, sons; Gary Everett and Leslie Everett, brothers Chester “Doc” Jackson and George Jackson.
Survivors include her daughter Debbie Harris and husband Jimmy, Athens, grandchildren; Chad Leonard and wife Shara, South Carolina, Jennifer Lei Harris, Athens Josh Harris and wife Jacey, Chandler, Janna Birkner and husband Jack, Dallas, Amy Snodgrass and husband Troy, Ft. Worth, Whitney Rogers and husband Trey, Athens, great-grandchildren Brielle Patton, Briar Leonard, Isabel DeCastro, Sophia DeCastro, Kinley Harris, Hailey Birkner, Sarah Birkner, Gracie Birkner, Presley Smith and Boston Rogers, great-great grandchild, Zaine Axton Patton.
Pallbearers will be Chad Leonard, Josh Harris, Ryan Soong, Trey Rogers, David Speer and Neal Yates.
