LORAIN – Frances Mae Finch Thornton, 66, of Lorain passed away peacefully following a sudden illness on Saturday, May 21, 2016.

She was born August 29th, 1949 in Mobile, Al. coming to Elyria in 1971 and then moving to Lorain in 1972.

She was a loving wife, mother, grandmother and wonderful friend to everyone in her life.

An avid sports fan, she loved the Cleveland Browns and the Cavaliers.

She is survived by her husband of 28 years, Lune Carl Thornton Jr., sons Reginald Finch, Justin Finch both of Lorain, and daughter Angel Thornton of Elyria, grandchildren Harlos, Amarris, Eiana, Jordan, Isiaha, Justin Jr., Gabrial and Isabella. Sister Virginia Hunter and nieces Tinsel and Shannon. Very special friends Linda Wren, Wilbur 'Bo' Hunter and Tommie Cawthorn.

She was preceded in death by her parents Nathaniel and Susie Mae Finch, son Harlos Finch and sister Ann Mathis.

Friends may call Tuesday May 31, 2016 from 6-8 p.m. at Carter Funeral Home, 3001 Elyria Ave., Lorain. Funeral services will be Wednesday June 1, 2016, at 11:00 a.m. at Friendship Baptist Church, 2160 Reeves Ave. Lorain, Ohio 44052. Rev John Jackson, officiating. Burial to follow at Elmwood Cemetery. Funeral arrangements entrusted to Carter Funeral Home, Inc., Lorain, Ohio 44055.
