"David Frank Danks, 65, of Bentonville, left this life for a much better one at Willard Walker Hospice in Fayetteville, Ark. on Sunday, April 17, 2016, after a long and courageous battle with Alzheimer's. He was born on June 16, 1950, in Greenville, Kentucky, to the late Betty Jean and David Danks. Dave grew up in Hutchinson, Kansas and graduated from Hutchinson High School in 1968. After serving two years in the U.S. Navy, Dave returned to Hutchinson where he worked at Jackson's Ice Cream until he retired in 1998. He married Becky Haisty Paneitz in 1998 in Las Vegas, Nevada, and they started their life together in Charlotte, North Carolina, where he embarked on a new career in golf course maintenance. In August, 2003, Dave and Becky moved to northwest Arkansas where he lived until his death. Dave loved to bowl and play golf while living in Hutchinson; he and Becky participated in bowing leagues in Charlotte and played golf together on golf courses throughout the country. He was a diehard fan of the Kansas City Chiefs and always had his KC cap on to demonstrate his loyalty. He loved his family, especially his step-granddaughter, Bella, for whom he served as father, grandpa, and a companion during the first several years of her life. When ask what his job was, he always responded that it was to take care of his wife, Becky, while she pursued her career in higher education. Dave never met a stranger and was loved by all who knew him. Even in his later years as he suffered from Alzheimer's, he was the epitome of a true gentleman and a person who cared for others. He was preceded in death by his parents and his grandparents. He is survived by his wife, Becky Paneitz Danks. Memorial services will be at 2 p.m., Wednesday, April 120, 2016 in the chapel in the Bild Training Center at Fellowship Bible Church in Rogers, Arkansas with Pastor Robert Cupp and Pastor Lamar Steiger officiating."
