Union Soldier, killed at the Battle of the Wilderness in Civil War, and Mary Augusta STEIDEN (1842-1912), born in Mittweida, Chemnitz, Saxony who came with parents Franz Edward STEIDEN and Johanna Christiana KOHLER, landing in Baltimore June 28, 1852 on ship "Johannes" from Bremen. Robert was married to Christina PFRIMMER on 8 Mar. 1885 at the home of his parents by his stepfather Rev. Jacob KELLER in old Scott Twp., Harrison Co., IN. They had 4 known children: Philip Clover (1886-1968), Martha (1889-1895), Emma Caroline BOTTLES (1893-1989); and Bertha Viola FRAVEL (1900-1930).
