In 1926, her family moved to Hessel near Sebastopol where her family continued working as farmers. During the Great Depression, she and her siblings picked fruit and then she worked at a local department store.
She met her future husband Naval Architect George Morris. They were married June 25, 1945. On June 1, 1947 their son Michael was born. In the 1950’s, they built “Holiday Harbor”, with a store, restaurant and boat storage by the Maxwell Bridge on the Napa River.
George passed away in 1988. Grace moved to Redwood Retirement in 1997.
She is survived by her son Michael; two grandsons; and two stepchildren.
Grace is preceded in death by her husband, George; her sisters, Marguerite and Betty; her brother, Leonard; parents, Robert Edward Lee Gallaher and Laura Bell Moneymaker.
