Funeral services will be 2 p.m. Monday at United Presbyterian Church, Viola. Burial will be in Norwood Cemetery, rural Alexis. Visitation is from 4 to 7 p.m. Sunday at Dennison Funeral Home, Aledo. Memorials may be left for the Viola United Presbyterian Church.
Dorothy was born May 14, 1913, near Viola, daughter of John Tracy and Jessie McCaw Morris. She graduated from Aledo High School, then married Harland Edwards on July 15, 1933. He passed away Aug. 7, 1954. She married Larry Morford on March 23, 1956. He passed away March 22, 1969.
She taught school, was a librarian in Viola and worked as a service and credit clerk at Montgomery Ward's in Rock Island.
Mrs. Morford was a member and past president of the Nature Lovers Garden Club, Henry-Mercer Audubon Society, Viola Women's Club, Mercer County Home Extension Unit MEHER'S and was on the Mercer County Home Extension board. She was a member of the Viola United Presbyterian Church and the Church Circle II. In addition, she belonged to several card clubs and enjoyed doing handwork and gardening.
She is survived by two daughters and sons-in-law, E. Irene and Dean Robinson, Rock Island, and Maridee and Ivan "Toby" Goben, Tucson, Ariz.; a daughter-in-law, Marcia Edwards, Matherville; 10 grandchildren; 18 great-grandchildren; and one great-great-grandson; and one brother and sister-in-law, William and Margaret Morris, Aledo. She was preceded in death by her parents; both husbands; a son, John Edwards; a grandson, Tim Robinson; a brother, Tracy Morris; and two sisters, Alice Furnas and Josephine Fender.
