Prudence Pauline Brown, daughter of the late William and Pearl (Cakebread) Peck was born on January 22, 1916 in Alpina, South Dakota and passed from this life on July 19, 2002 at Texas County Memorial Hospital in Houston, Missouri following an extended illness. She was 86 years, 5 months, and 27 days of age.
Prudence grew up in South Dakota and was married to George Eckhardt. One son and four daughters were born to this union. She later married Enoch Brown and two children was born to this union. She had lived in Missouri for the past thirteen years.
Her life was devoted to her family and she was most happy when taking care of them. She was the center of attention at family gatherings and will be sadly missed by all who knew and loved her.
Besides her parents she is preceded in death by her husband, Enoch Brown; one son, Jeffrey Brown; and two daughters, Elaine Renner and Karen Eckhardt; one brother and five sisters.
She was survived by two sisters; Dora Davies of Hot Springs, SD and Ellen Kennedy of Sacramento, CA; two daughters, Doreen of Laclede, Missouri; Sharon of Mountain Grove, MO; two sons, Bill Eckhardt of Roseville, CA, and Rev. Dana "Buzz" Brown of Mountain Grove, MO; 16 grandchildren; 31 great grandchildren; several great, great grandchildren.
She had a hard life but loved much. We will always treasure the time we had with her while she was on this earth.
