A native of Dumferline, Scotland, Miles was born Feb. 25,1883, and came to the U.S. with his parents when he was 14 months old. He had lived in the Catoosa area since 1909 and was at one time an oil feild driller, owning a drilling rig of his own at one time, and later drilling for other independent oil operators in the Tulsa area. He later worked for Spartan Aircraft Company, retiring at the age of 72.
He was a member of the Pentecostal Church Of God and the Masonic Lodge.
Survivors include his wife, Maudie, of the home in Verdigris and one Son, Dale Miles, Claremore, 2 daughters Marguerite Jones of Longview Texas and Mrs. Freda Thurman of Tulsa, 7 grandchildren and 17 great grandchildren Also surviving is one Sister, Ruby Webb, of Fowler, Colorado.
Internment was in the Wofford Cemetery under direction of Kennard Funeral Service.
