Sarah Jane Rawn, 92 Town Line, Orangeville, died in Dufferin Area hospitalon July 15 after a lengthy illness. She was born in Mono on July 12, 1879, the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Jesse Willerton (Ann Jane McKenna). She was married twice, first to John T. Pierson and then to Samuel J. Rawn who both predeceased her.
Mrs. Rawn was a member of St. Mark's Anglican Church, Orangeville, and she previously belonged to St. Paul's Anglican Church, Mono. She was an active member of St. Paul's Guild and W. A. and in 1957 she was made a life member of the W. A.
Mrs. Rawn is survived by three sons, Lloyd Pierson, Port Dover; Cleve Rawn, Hockley and George Rawn, Orangeville; five daughters , Mrs. Lawrence Cole (Mabel), Barrie; Mrs. Angus Cole (May), Hockley; Mrs. Harry McKenna (Pheabe), Orangeville; Mrs. Murray Allen (Marjorie), Orangeville and Lavina Rawn, Glen Cross, 27 grandchildren and 64 great grandchildren.
She was predeceased by two sisters, Mrs. Harry Howard (Eliza) and Mrs. Thos. Smith (Emma), and brother, John Willerton. Rev. J. D. Rathbone conducted the funeral service July 17 from St. Mark's Church. The Turner Funeral Home assisted with the funeral. Interment was in St. John's Cemetery on the 7th Line of Mono. The pallbearers were Clifford Penelton; Theo Parker; Ross McKenzie; Howard Smurthwaite; Angus Rawn and Jim Penelton. The floral tributes were carried by Harvey Pierson; Ronald Cole; Oscar Cole; Bruce McKenna; Cecil Rawn; and Cecil Smith.
