Salem, May 3 -(S)- Emery D. Baker, 71, died at 3:40 p.m. yesterday in a Clarksburg hospital following a year long illness.

He was born Aug. 4, 1879 in Tyler County, the son of David and Rachael Lasure Baker.

Survivors include his stepmother, Mrs Rosalee Baker; his widow, Ada M. Baker of Salem; three sons, David of Tiffin, Ohio, Daniel of Berkeley Springs, and Lloyd at home; three daughters, Mrs. Ruth Bailey of Clarksburg, Mrs. Ellen Adams of Washington D. C., and Miss Daisy Baker at home; five brothers, Charles of Cincinnati, Ohio, Gathey of Wichita, Kans., and Homer, Frank, and Carl of Salem; five sisters, Mrs. Emily Thompson and Mrs. Lucille Caldwell of Wichita, Kans., Mrs. Lovie Wright of Alva, Tyler County, Mrs. Jesse Merritt of Route 2, Salem, and Mrs. Pearl George of Salem.

Mr. Baker was a member of the Salem Church of God in West Salem.
