Sandra Lee Ward Stafford, 69, passed away May 16, 2016 at her home in Ardmore, OK. She was surrounded by family and friends, and filled with love as she peacefully moved on to Heaven. Sandy was born on January 30, 1947 in Redlands, CA to Dallas and Dorothy Ward.

Sandy grew up in Southern California. Following graduation from San Bernardino High School, she married Robert Smith and made her life as a homemaker. Together they had two sons, Craig and Keith Smith. During the 1970's, she and Robert divorced and continued to raise their sons together through kindness and love.

In 1988, Sandy married Robert Stafford in Southern California, then they moved and made their home in Holdenville, OK. Together they built their farm and enjoyed the country life until his untimely death in 1994. Robert was the love of her life, and Sandy never remarried. Sandy created a career for herself in Wewoka, OK as 1st Deputy at the Seminole County Assessor's Office. She worked there until health issues forced her into retirement in 2008.

In 2012, Sandy moved to Ardmore, OK to be closer to her family. She immediately joined and became involved at the First United Methodist Church in Ardmore. She was a part of many ministries in her church, her most favorite being Hospitality. Sandy loved gardening, fishing, dancing and especially shopping with her granddaughters.

Sandy was loved by all who knew her, always being remembered as the one who lit up a room and had a beautiful smile. Her taste in clothing and the colors she chose to wear always lifted spirits of those around her. Her beloved pastor Jessica Moffatt Seay once said it best - Sandy was not a lonely soul.

Sandy is survived by her sons, Craig and wife Shanna Smith of Ardmore, OK, and Keith and wife Lori Smith of Lake Arrowhead, CA. She had three cherished grandchildren, Andrew Smith of Lake Arrowhead, CA, Kelsey Smith of Ardmore, OK, and her "Peanut", Kailyn Smith, of Ardmore, OK. She is also survived by her brother, Ken and Barb Ward of Hesperia, CA, numerous cousins, nephews, nieces, friends and her church family. She also had a very dear friend of many years, Julie Carr, who experienced life with her up until the very end.

She is preceded in death by her husband, Robert Stafford, her parents, Dallas and Dorothy Ward, one brother, Jim Ward, and a close friend, Robert Carr.

Celebration of life memorial ~ First United Methodist Church in Ardmore on Saturday, June 4, 2016 with Reverend Brad Dery officiating. Sandy's final wish was for any family and friends who were able, to be a guest in her church on the following Sunday at 11:05am. She was at peace and happy she was joining Jesus, and wanted everyone to celebrate His life along with hers. Please wear bright colors as she would wear, she did not want black.

In lieu of flowers, Sandy wanted donations to be given to Ardmore First United Methodist Church, to be distributed to the Hospitality Fund.
