Marcine "Marcy" Laska age 72, of the Town of Hull, passed away peacefully surrounded by her loving family, Saturday May 21, 2016 at St. Joseph Hospital in Marshfield. Marcy fought a courageous 11 year battle with multiple myeloma.
A Mass of Christian Burial for Marcy will be held at 11:00 AM on Thursday May 26, 2016 at St. Adalbert Catholic Church in Rosholt. Rev. Greg Michaud and Rev. Dennis Stanchik will concelebrate the Mass. Visitation will be from 9:00 AM Thursday until the time of service at the church. Burial will be in the parish cemetery. Shuda Funeral Service is assisting the family.
Marcy was born September 30, 1943 in Stevens Point, the daughter of Alois and Lucille (Skrzypkowski) Stanczyk. She graduated high school and attended 2 years of college in Indiana. She returned to the area and married James Laska on September 14, 1968 at St. Stanislaus Catholic Church. They settled in Stevens Point and raised their family. Marcy worked locally as a beautician for many years and also was the bookkeeper at the Town & Country Chateau Bridal for 30 years, retiring in 2005. She enjoyed gardening, cooking, and helping others, especially caring for the elderly. People in need held a special place in her heart and she always put others before herself. Her selfless acts will be remembered by all.
Marcy is survived by her husband James, and their 3 children: Dale Laska, Stevens Point; Jason (Sharon) Laska, Stevens Point; Christel (Andy) Simonis, Mosinee, 2 grandchildren: Morgan and Lucas Simonis, and 1 brother: Jerry (Shelby) Stanczyk, Rudolph. She was preceded in death by her parents, her brother Bob, and her infant sister.
