Archie Kenneth Lowe age 80, passed away on Saturday May 21, 2016 at the Johnston Memorial Hospital in Abingdon, VA.

Mr. Lowe was born in Smyth County to the late Harrington & Josie Testerman Lowe. He is also preceded in death by his infant daughter Nancy Ann Lowe, brothers; Harrington Lowe, Jr., Ernest Lowe, Garland Lowe, and Ira Lee Lowe, half sisters Virginia Attwell & Clyde Finley, and a step brother Kenneth Bathlazer. Archie was a faithful and dedicated member of the Macedonia Baptist Church in Chilhowie. He enjoyed spending his spare time working in his garden. He would always share his crops with all his neighbors and friends.

He is survived by his loving wife of 60 years Shirley Lowe of Chilhowie, his son William Lowe & wife Sandy of Chilhowie, granddaughter Anna Lowe Graham & husband Wayne, two great granddaughters; Caroline & Stella Mackenzie “Mac” Graham, brothers; Marshall Lowe & wife Darlene, Earl Lowe & wife Kathy, sisters; Jean Cheney & husband Clarence, Maxine Hamm & husband Tommy, Lucille Teaster, and Margaret Gilley & husband Bob, step brother Fred Balthazar & wife Theresa, his special companion Skipper, and several nieces, nephews and special friends to include Steve Crigger.

Graveside funeral services will be held at 11:00AM on Tuesday May 24, 2016 from the Macedonia Baptist Church Cemetery in Chilhowie with Reverend Dennis Eller officiating. Family and friends are asked to meet at the cemetery. The family will receive friends from 6:00-8:00PM on Monday at the funeral chapel in Chilhowie.
