On January 25, Mr. Henry Farthing, old-time farmer of the Irma district, passed away in the Wainwright hospital after being in failing health for some years.
The deceased was well known and respected and was a man of his word. Honest to the core and underneath a rough exterior had a kind heart. Born in Minnesota on August 24, 1871, he came to Canada about the year 1890 and finally located on his farm in the spring of 1918 at Irma. He built up, by hard worr and perserverance, a fine foundation which he sold to Mr. O. Halvorsen in 1947. He then moved to the village of Irma.
