William P. Duncan, a blacksmith and tobacco planter, son of Edmund and Grace Duncan Edmund. A Scottish descentant.

William Duncan is listed with his brothers Edmund and Isaac in Captain Nicholas Bowden's Company, Duplin County Regiment Revolutionary War.

William's date of birth July 7 1755 we have not been able to find documentation. It is unknown who originally recorded the date in our family history.
Possibly recorded in an old Family Bible.
The James Pinckney Duncan's Family Bible was destroyed in April, 1885.
A storm / tornado destroyed the home of Needham Luke Duncan. Injuries were his wife Mary Ann and 3 children. Death was an unborn child.
Luke had possession of the Bible after death of his father James Pinkney Duncan.
James P Duncan was a grandson of William P Duncan.

Married Anne Civil / Seville Kornegay birth 1759 in Craven County, North Carolina death 1839 in Duplin County, North Carolina. Anne Civil Kornegay, oldest daughter of Jacob Kornegay (son of George) married William Duncan in 1778 Duplin County North Carolina. William was son of Edmund Duncan.
At the marriage of William and Anne, Edmund Dunkan/Duncan (William's Brother) and Elijah Jones were Bondsmen. The Clerk of Court was William Dickson.

William Duncan was listed with his family in the 1790 and 1800 United States Censuses Duplin County North Carolina
The family lived on a 1,000 acres plantation on the Cape Fear River, Duplin County, North Carolina. The land was purchased from Joel Sasser,(Find A Grave Memorial# 162941859) and lay between that of George Dunkan/Duncan (William's Brother) and John Kornegay (William's brother-in-law, brother to Anne Kornegay Duncan).
