Morris lived most of his life in Kanawha County and was a retired union carpenter for the Charleston local. He was a World War II U.S. Army veteran and a member of the Mile Fork Advent Christian Church.
Surviving wife, Darlena McClanahan Fisher Taylor of Nitro; daughter, Mary Copeland and her husband Lee of Lindale, Texas; brothers, John P. Taylor of Big Chimney and James B. Taylor of Elk Hills; sister, Virginia Coleman of Chiefland, Fla.; five grandchildren; and seven great-grandchildren.
Services was at 1 p.m. Monday, October 23, 2006, at Cooke Funeral Home Chapel, 2002 20th St., Nitro, with the Rev. Doyle Young officiating. Burial will follow the services in Tyler Mountain Memory Gardens, Cross Lanes.
