Ellen L. Pitts died peacefully at her home at the Camelot Apartments on October 20, 2006. Ellen suffered from failing health conditions for the past three years. She was lovingly called Mrs. Camelot by all her close friends and neighbors. During summer months past, she was also Queen of the Swimming Pool because she loved to visit at pool side and also help teach some grandchildren who to swim. Ellen was always doing something, making something to give away to friends or neighbors. Even after losing her eyesight, she was still crocheting or knitting. She said, "I can feel if I'm doing it right and I can't stand not being busy." Ellen was born in Humboldt County, CA on March 26, 1915, and married Horace W. Pitts on December 12, 1957. She is survived by her husband at home and one niece, Mrs. Patsy Bailey of Vancouver, WA. Her ashes will be interred at Mountain View. Based on her request, no service is planned. Horace has suggested that in lieu of flowers, follow Ellen's example... find a needy lonesome neighbor and make a new friend.
