Obituary of Karl Alois Wegerbauer

Karl A. Wegerbauer, 84, of Greenfield, passed away on Thursday, Sept. 3, 2015 at Froedtert Hospital in Milwaukee.

Karl was born on Sept. 18, 1930 in Milwaukee, the son of Siegfried and Hedwig (Berger) Wegerbauer. Karl served his country in the US Air Force during the Korean War. Karl married the love of his life, Margaret Schultz, in 1954 in Detroit, MI, and they enjoyed 53 years of marriage. After graduating from UWM, Karl taught in the Milwaukee Public School system for four years. In 1961, he moved to Franklin. He was the vice principal of Country Dale School and principal of Forest Park Middle School and Pleasant View grade school in the Franklin School District. Karl loved fishing, golfing, traveling, and acting. He was an actor in the Greendale Suburban Players and the Oak Creek Community Theatre.

Survivors include: seven children Carol (Moustafa) Hassan , Patricia (David) Chybowski , John , Linda (Ted) Witkowiak , Robert , Joan Osgood and Margaret (Bill) Crowley ; 19 grandchildren; 5 great-grandchildren; sister Anna (Bill) Kremel . He is also survived by a number of nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends. He is preceded in death by his parents; wife, Margaret (Peggy); a daughter in infancy; grandson, Brian and brother, Siegfried Jr.

The visitation for Karl will be held on Friday, Sept. 11, 2015 from 9:00 AM until the time of the 11:00 AM Mass of Christian Burial at St. James Catholic Church, 7219 S 27th St, Franklin, WI 53132. Burial immediately follow at Holy Sepulcher Cemetery in Cudahy.

In lieu of flowers, memorials to the American Diabetes Association (375 Bishops Way, Suite 220, Brookfield, WI 53005) are appreciated.
