Edgar P. Wild, 85, of 11 E Washington St., Freeburg, died at St. Elizabeth's Hospital, Belleville, Sunday, May 13, 1879 at 3:05 a.m. A retired coal miner and an overseas veteran of WWI, he was a member of Locklar Smith Post 550 American Legion.

He was born January 9, 1894 at Renchler Station, a son of George and Frances Wild, nee Steinwagner. He married Ella Schuester in St. Louis on June 30, 1938.

Besides his wife he is survived by three sons [private]; three daughters [private]; one brother and two sisters, Walter Wild, Freeburg; Mrs. Edna Etling, Freeburg; and Mrs. Ralph (Elsie) Jung, Freeburg; seven grandchildren and 17 great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by a son Lloyd Wild and one brother, George Wild.

Funeral Tuesday from Renner in Freeburg with burial at Walnut Hill.
