Betty Carroll Richardson, 83, wife of the late James Arnold Richardson and a resident of Exmore, VA, passed away Thursday, February 9, 2017 at Heritage Hall Healthcare in Nassawadox, VA. Born on Hog Island, VA and reared in Willis Wharf, VA, she was the daughter of the late Walter D. Carroll and the late Virginia Bell Carroll Poulson. She was a retired Postmaster for the Jamesville Post Office and member of Epworth United Methodist Church.

She is survived by three children, James A. Richardson, Jr. of Exmore, David F. Richardson and his wife, Michele, of Jamesville, VA, Sharon C. Damiano and her husband, Joe, of Severn, MD; three grandchildren, Aaron O’Hara, Timothy O’Hara, Jimmy Lord; and a great granddaughter Eva O’Hara.

A graveside service will be conducted Monday, February 13, 2017 at 2:00 PM at Belle Haven Cemetery with Sandra Walters officiating. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to S.P.C.A. Animal Shelter, P.O. Box 164, Onley, VA 23418 or the Barrier Islands Center, P. O. Box 206, Machipongo, VA 23405.
