John Calvin Ellis, 73, of Roanoke, died Friday, January 2, 1998. Born March 25, 1924, he was a son of the late Dana and Mary P. Bobbitt Ellis. Surviving are one sister, Mary W. Harrison of Hardy; two brothers and one sister-in-law, Robert C. and Louise Ellis of Hardy, Arthur B. Ellis of Roanoke; several nieces and nephews. Funeral services will be conducted 2 p.m. Sunday, January 4, 1998, at Epworth United Methodist Church, Moneta, with the Rev. Glenn Phillips
officiating. Interment will follow in the church cemetery. Friends may call at the funeral home after 2 p.m. Saturday, where the family will be from 7 to 9 p.m. Lynch Funeral Home, Rocky Mount, is in charge of arrangements.
