She graduated from Winthrop College and went to serve as a librarian for all of her life, later retiring from the Navy Experimental Diving Unit in Panama City, Fla. Bonnie became a resident of Freeport in 1987 after moving from White Plains, Md.
Bonnie is survived by one brother, David Michael Ammons of Myrtle Beach, S.C.; one nephew, Marcus Ammons of Bluefield, W.W.; one niece, Luanne Ammons of Ashville, N.C.; one great-nephew, Jackson Ammons; and one great-niece, Sarah Ammons.
A celebration of Bonnie's life will be held Saturday, June 20, 2009, at the New Beginnings Church in Freeport, beginning at 10 a.m. with Pastor Louis Taunton officiating.
Arrangements and service are under the direction of Davis-Watkins Funeral Home and Crematory.
