Castro Resident Buried Wednesday

Funeral services for John Harrison Cryer were held at the First Baptist Church Wednesday afternoon at 4 o'clock. Rev. E.S. Weathers of Plainview conducted the services assisted by Rev. V.E. Temple and Rev. A.M. Dowell.

Mr. Cryer was born July 25, 1869 in Newton County, Texas and passed away at his home March 30 at the age of 73 years 8 months and 5 days. He had been ill for the past several months. Mr. Cryer has lived near Flagg the past 18 years and the past year has lived in Dimmitt.

He is survived by his wife and 6 children, all were present, C.A. of Borger, Mrs. Altha Stair of Canton, Okla., Mrs. Artie Rothwell, Marvin, John Jr., and Dale all of Dimmitt two brothers, Lonzo of Florisville, Alvin of Los Angeles, Calif., two sisters, Mrs. Fannie Bruce, Sonora, Texas, Mrs. Hester Donnohue of Florisville, Texas, and six grandchildren.

Pallbearers were J.C. Williams, Vestel Messenger, G.L. Blanton, Pete Duree, Dent Bradley, and George Blanton. Flower girls were Mrs. J.V. Messenger, Vern Lust, Fred Lust, A.C. Trainor, G.B. Frazier, Gene Ivey and Miss Esther Trainer.

Interment was made in the Dimmitt cemetery under the direction of the Womack Funeral Home of McLean, Texas.

Out of town relatives here for the funeral other than the children, were: Mrs. C.A. Cryer and daughter of Borger, two grand daughters, Misses Othella and Virgie Cryer of Wichita Falls, Texas, Mr. and Mrs. J.E. Thomas of Kirkland, Mr. and Mrs. G.D. McMinn, and Mrs. Linnie Cross of Childress.
