Susan Burdene Gage, 55, of Janesville, Iowa, passed away on Monday, May 16, 2016, at her home in Janesville.
Sue was born on July 20, 1960, in Waverly, Iowa, the daughter of Joseph C. and Betty L. (Horner) Bruns. She grew up and attended school in Janesville.
After her schooling, she married Melvin Gage. The couple later divorced. Sue worked for twenty-two years at Kwik-Star in Janesville. She was a clerk, and later advanced to an assistant manager position.
Sue was a member of Messiah Lutheran Church in Janesville. She enjoyed going to the casino, and loved her yellow labs, Trapper and Gunner. However, spending time with family and friends brought her the most joy!
Sue is survived by her son Joe Gage of Janesville; four sisters, Debra (Timothy) Robinson of Elk Run Heights, Lori (Mark) Klepper of Cedar Falls, Kimberly (Gary) Kruse of Elk Run Heights, and Lisa Bloker of Waverly; one brother, Jim Bruns of Janesville; four nieces, Amy Robinson, Lindsey (Jesus) Urbina, Kaylin Klepper and Brooke Bloker; four nephews, Scott (Briana) Hilmer, Robert (Melissa) McCarron, Matthew Kruse and Kristopher Kruse; three great-nieces, Isabella Urbina, Mariana Urbina and Alissa McCarron; two great-nephews, Blake and Zach Hilmer; and special friend, Amanda Tomlinson.
She was preceded in death by her parents; an infant brother; and sister-in-law, Georgia Bruns.
Funeral services will be at 10:00 on Monday, May 23, 2016, at Kaiser-Corson Funeral Home in Waverly, Iowa, with Pastor Corey Smith officiating. Burial will follow in St. Paul's Lutheran Cemetery in Waverly. Visitation will be on Sunday, May 22, 2016, from 4:00 to 7:00 pm, at the Kaiser-Corson Funeral Home in Waverly, and also one hour prior to the service on Monday.
