Lisa was born on December 1, 1966. In Waverly, Iowa, the daughter of Joseph C and Betty L. (Horner) Bruns. She was raised in Janesville where she attended school and graduated from Janesville High School in 1985.
On October 14, 1989, Lisa was united in marriage to Roger Bloker at St. John Lutheran Church in Waverly. The couple later divorced.
Lisa worked at Kwik Star in Janesville for over thirty years. She loved her customers and knew everyone in Janesville, and everyone knew her. While working at Kwik Star, Lisa also cleaned multiple businesses over the years.
When she wasn’t working, in the past, Lisa served on the Janesville Days Committee and played on the Wednesday night Pool League in Janesville. She enjoyed shopping with her sisters, and traveling, with Florida being one of her favorite destinations. She also liked socializing and attending “Country on the River” in Prairie du Chien, WI. Lisa especially liked spending time with her daughter, Brooke. Lisa was a very caring mother, and the two shared a very special and close relationship.
Lisa’s memory is honored by her daughter Brooke Bloker and her fiance, Brady Larson of Waterloo; three sisters, Debra (Timothy) Robinson of Elk Run Heights, Lori (Mark) Klepper of Cedar Falls, and Kimberly (Gary) Kruse of Elk Run Heights; one brother, Jim Bruns of Janesville; three nieces, Amy Robinson (Ian Osborne), Lindsey (Jesus) Urbina, and Kaylin Klepper; five nephews, Scott (Briana) Hilmer, Robert (Melissa) McCarron, Joe Gage, Matthew Kruse and Kristopher Kruse; two great-nieces, Isabella Urbina and Mariana Urbina; two great-nephews, Blake and Zach Hilmer.
She was preceded in death by her parents; her sister, Susan Gage; and an infant brother.
Funeral services will be held at 11:00 am on Monday, January 8, 2018, at Kaiser-Corson Funeral Home in Waverly with Pastor Ramona Bouzard officiating. Burial will follow in St. Paul’s Cemetery in Waverly. Visitation will be from 4 to 8 pm on Sunday, January 7, 2018, at the Kaiser-Corson Funeral Home in Waverly, and also one hour prior to the service on Monday.
