Mary loved and served her family as a homemaker. She enjoyed gardening and was known by the community for walking her beloved canine friend, Pitty Bull.
She leaves to cherish her memory a loving husband of 60 years, Richard; a son, Gregory Scott Rains of Farmland, IN; three sisters, Sarah Duff (Lee) of Richmond and Mae Monroe (Frank), all of Richmond, IN and Lee Vernon of Centerville, IN; a granddaughter, Bobbie Jo Rains (Shawn) of Parker City, IN; and four great grandchildren, Preston and Pierceton Erwin, Laney Mae Riley and Xaiden Rains. She was preceded in death by her parents; a son, Brian; a grandson, Nicholas; and a brother, John "Bud" Conley.
There will be a private family service. There will be no public calling hours. Burial will be at Buena Vista Cemetery of Unionport, Indiana.
