Dorothy was born on May 7, 1928, in Chicago, Ill., to the late Morris and Libby Heiferman. A devoted wife and mother, her greatest joy, besides eating sweets, was being with and attending to the needs of family and friends. Her passions included reading cookbooks, growing a large garden, spending time at the beach, listening to music and traveling. She was known for her quirky sense of humor. Although she lived in Connecticut for 51 years, she never lost her love for Chicago. She had a strong Jewish identity and was a member of Temple Emanu-El in Waterford.
Dorothy was the beloved wife of the late Robert Levin and the late Edward Eby.
Dorothy was the loving mother of Judith (Neal Beroz) Levin, Russell (Diane) Levin, and Gail (David) Johnson; proud grandmother of Rory Levin and Andrew and Alex Johnson and Rory Levin; dear sister of Hilbert Heiferman and Geraldine Mines; and fond aunt of numerous nieces and nephews.
Graveside services will be held at Evergreen Cemetery in Evergreen Park, Ill.
