Ignace Rousselle was a Constable for St. John the Baptist Parish Sheriff's Department. He died in the line of duty at age 63. When he went to a home to question a man about stolen farm equipment, he was shot and killed. The suspect was later convicted, and executed for the crime. Constable Rousselle was survived by his wife and seven children.
