Olive Elizabeth Briggs

Graveside services were held Monday, March 20, for Miss Olive Elizabeth Briggs, who died at Newton Regional Hospital on March 18, 1995. Rev. Charles Douglas officiated at the Masonic Cemetery service.

The ninety-five year old retired music teacher was born in Hortonville, Wisconsin, and leaves four nieces, Roxie B. Reynolds of Demopolis, Ala., Charlotte Macio of Dallas Texas, Lina Kirkpatrick of DallasTexas, and Olive Byrd of Fort Myers, Fla.; and one nephew, James Briggs of Fort Myers, Fla.

Miss Briggs was a member of Newton Presbyterian Church, a reserve member of the American Association of Retired Persons Newton County Unit, Newton Music Lovers Club and reserve member of Delta Kappa Gamma Society.

Pallbearers were Caldway Allen, Gary Allen, James Allen, Warren Allen and Weldon Allen. Honorary pallbearers were Dr. David Rives, Dr. Horace May, Dr. Stephan Tramill and the Elders of Newton Presbyterian Church.
