Claude R. Earp went home to be with his Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ, on Friday, May 13, 2016.
Claude was born Aug. 27, 1923, in Park Springs to Inis and Sam L. Earp. He graduated from Park Springs High School in 1941, then attended Lamar College in Beaumont, majoring in metallurgy and welding. After graduating, he worked as a welder in the shipyards at Beaumont and Orange before joining the army in 1944 where he served in the 7th Infantry Regiment, 3rd Infantry Division. He was involved in the battles of Argon Forest, Munich and Nuremberg, among others. After discharge from the army in 1946, Claude settled in Fort Worth, going to work for General Dynamics as a welder, progressing to department head and factory manager. He retired in 1987. On May 22, 1948, Claude married Juanita Hill. They enjoyed 59 wonderful years together, and settled in the North Riverside area, becoming very loving and devoted parents to two daughters. They were active in their community and faithful members of Riverside Baptist Church. The family would like to thank the staff of Brookdale Richland Hills with special appreciation to Dawn Samuels, April Wilbanks, Marye Bird, Carlos Salvador, Tabitha White, Kristen Rushin, Jenna Barron, Latricia Halferty, Amber Johnson, Monce Ajoleza, Hayley Smith, Brittany President, Hilda Weast, Teandria Handy, Charlotte Cairns Mikecha Pollard, Shay Haire and Sequoia Isom. Thanks also to his Brookdale Hospice team, Steve Schwartz and Loyce Hopkins, with very special gratitude to Debbie Weed and Eva Mojica. Your friendship, devoted care, support, compassion and laughter were greatly appreciated by Claude and his entire family.
Claude was preceded in death by his dear wife, Juanita; and his beloved daughter, Teresa.
Survivors: He is survived by his daughter and son-in-law, Brenda and Bill Borden of Plano; granddaughter, Lindsay Dodson and husband, Derek, of Frisco; brother, Carol W. Earp of Haltom City; and numerous nieces and nephews.
