Butz, Christian of York Twp died Saturday. Cause of death was a malignant growth on the right lower maxillary. He was born March 3, 1822 at Wurttemberg, Germany. He came to this country when about 18 and came to Noble County in 1857. He is survived by 9 children. ^ 12-13-1906 He was born at Creilseim, Wurttemberg, Germany, March 3, 1822. He died Dec. 8 at the age of 84 years 9 months and 5 days. He came to America at the age of 18 the first time. Then after spending 10 years in New York navigating, returned to his Fatherland crossing the Atlantic Ocean seven times. Then he returned to America and married Mary Ley in Buffalo, N.Y. Aug. 12, 1857. They came to York Twp, Noble County the same year and spent the remainder of their lives there. To them were born 11 children. The first son died in infancy and their daughter, Louisa Martha at the age of 26 in 1901. The mother died in 1892. Nine children and 16 grandchildren survive. Funeral was at the home Dec. 11. ^ 12-20-1906
