Shirley Barnes, 71, passed away Thursday, May 12, 2016 with her family and friends by her side. She was born November 8, 1944 in Joplin, Missouri to Chester and Rosalie (Williams) Huckabey. She worked for many years in the Nursing Home industry as a Social/Activity Director.

She is preceded in death by, her parents; husband; James G. Barnes Jr., and son; James G. Barnes III.

She is survived by, children; Tammy (Bill) Gough, Michelle (Steve) Scott, Bill Barnes, siblings; Chester Huckabey, Joseph Huckabey, Sue Lindquist, David Huckabey, Merrie VanSickle, Terrie Carey, 9 grandchildren, and 6 great-grandchildren.

Memorial services 2:00 P.M., Monday, May 16, 2016 at the First Congregational Church, 101 Academy, Maize, Kansas.
