William, 65, passed away Tuesday, April 26, 2016 in Lansing, Michigan. He was born to Walter and Shirley (Rudtner) Sperber.

He came to East Lansing to attend Michigan State University and found his home. After graduating with a Bachelor's Degree, Bill worked for many years in the Office of Planning and Budgets. He retired, and then returned as a consultant to provide his invaluable and creative insight to everyone who needed it. He was a constant mentor and a generous man both in spirit and in kind to those he knew and for his community at large: he was active in funding scholarships, the Lansing Food Bank, and MSU Safe Place among many other charities. Bill will be remembered as a loving, selfless, honest, and humble man who will be dearly missed.

He is survived by his wife, Marsha Webb; his children, Jason and Felicia Sperber; his brother, Joseph Sperber; his sister-in-law, Cherie Richie; and his nieces, Chloe Richie, Jamie Summerfield, and Torie (Justin) Harr; his aunt, Joan (Rudtner) Lentini; and many cousins.

He was preceded in death by his parents and his sister-in-law, Kelly Summerfield.

A private interment will be held at Alchin Farm Cemetery in Webberville.

In honor of Bill, memorial contributions may be made to the Walter and Shirley Sperber Scholarship Fund, MSU Development Fund, East Lansing, MI or to MSU Safe Place, East Lansing, MI
