Mrs. Fredda Beth Puckett (Nee Wade), 72, died unexpectedly and peacefully in her home Wednesday, May 11, 2016. Fredda was born on April 11, 1944 in Littlefield, TX to Fred H. Wade and Inez (Wood) Wade. She graduated from Del City High School in 1961. After graduation, she married her high school sweetheart, Ed Puckett in Houston, TX. Fredda also attended Blackwood Business College graduating in 1963. While Ed was in the service, Fredda worked at Mutual of Omaha. After moving back to Del City in 1965, Fredda worked at Schuler Fruit Company then Dayton Tire and Rubber Company. Fredda then opened a tax preparation office from which she retired in 2010. By 1965, Fredda and Ed welcomed 3 daughters into their home and Fredda set about raising 3 of the finest young women one could ask for. Her children remember her as a kind, gentle, patient mother, who encouraged them to pursue their own goals. Fredda was a member of Sunnylane United Methodist Church all of her life as well as an accomplished musician playing anything she set her hands to. She enjoyed gardening and raising plants above everything but her family. She was generous, witty and dedicated individual who loved her family deeply. She was active in the Del City Lions Club throughout her life having held most offices multiple times including President. Fredda is survived by her husband Ed Puckett; two daughters, Fredda Puckett of Del City and LuDina Marney of Bonner Springs, KS; one sister, Shari Smith of MWC; 5 grandchildren; 7 great-grandchildren; and many loved extended family. Fredda was preceded in death by 1 daughter, Gayla Satterwhite; her parents, Fred H and Inez Wade; and one great-granddaughter, Fayth Elayne Gray. A funeral service will be held at 10am, Monday, May 16, 2016 in Candlewood Chapel at Ford Funeral Service with burial following at Sunny Lane Cemetery. All are welcome to attend and celebrate Fredda's life. Visitation will be held 1-6pm, Sunday with the family present 4-6pm to greet friends. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to a charity of your choice or to Sunnylane United Methodist Church.
