Services In memory of Irene Rost were held at 10:30 a.m. Wednesday, March 18. 1992, at St. Paul's Lutheran Church In Hartley Rev. John Schauer officiated. Casket bearers were Milo Peters. Gene Ahrenstorff, Donald Treimer. Jerry Roth, Gale Bobolz and Darold Rost. Committal service was in Pleasant View Cemetery in Hartley. Baumgarten Funeral Home was in charge of arrangements.
Irene Helen Rost, the daughter of Fred and Agnes Betel Jacobs, was born November 15. 1898. at Goose Lake, Iowa. She moved with her parents to O'Brien County in 1903, and was educated in the rural schools near her childhood home.
She was united in marriage to Clifford Henry Rost on December 19. 1918. at Hartley. They made their home at Hartley and to this union were bom two daughters: Evelyn (Mrs. Dr. F.C. Wilson), and Arlene (Mrs. Ken Churchill).
Irene was a faithful member of St. Paul's Lutheran Church and Ladies Aid. She was also a member of the American Legion Auxiliary. She passed away at Hartley on March 16. 1992, at the age of 93.
Preceding her in death were her parents; her husband: one sister. Hilda (Mrs. Walter Ahrenstorff): one daughter, Evelyn Wilson: three grandchildren. Craig Churchill, and an infant grandson and granddaughter.
Left to cherish her memory are one daughter and her husband, Arlene and Ken Churchill of Spring Valley, Minnesota; three grandchildren; four great-grandchildren: one brother. Walter Jacobs of Sanborn; ether relatives and friends.
