Mrs. Mary Helen Richardson Pratt, widow of Charles Pratt, the oil merchant and founder of Pratt Institute, Brooklyn, died yesterday at her home, No. 232 Clinton Ave, Brooklyn, in the sixty-eighth year of her age. Mrs. Pratt, who came from an old New England family, was born in Watertown, Mass., and for the last thirty-five years had made her home in Brooklyn. She was a member of the Emmanuel Baptist Church, and was interested in charitable work. She leaves one daughter and six sons—Charles M., Frederick B., George, Herbert, John, Henry and Miss Helen Pratt.
Mr. Pratt, who at the time of his death was a vice-president of the Standard Oil Company, died suddenly at his office in the Standard Oil Building, No. 26 Broadway, on May 5, 1891.
The funeral of Mrs. Pratt will be held tomorrow night. The burial will be at Glen Cove, Long Island.
