Mr. Hinson, born in Kershaw, was a retired Springs Industries employee and worked as a newspaper carrier for The Lancaster News. He was a deacon and assistant Sunday school teacher of the men's Bible class at his church. He was also active in discipleship training. He was a World War II Army veteran and a son of the late Robert and Grace Elizabeth McManus Hinson.
Survivors are his wife, Mrs. Mary Robinson Hinson; sons, Stanley Hinson of Summerville, Phillip Hinson; daughters, Mrs. Terry Robinson of Lugoff, Mrs. Reba Lemmons of Fallbrook, Calif., Mrs. Kay Vincent, Mrs. Lisa Williams; sisters, Mrs. Jeanette Harris of Lancaster, Mrs. Vivian Taylor; eight grandchildren.
