Uries Pifer, 98, Port Huron resident 30 years, former resident of Roseburg, died Wednesday in the home of his daughter, Mrs. Ford L. Kiteley, 707 Superior Street. Mr. Pifer was born Oct. 20, 1855 in White Church, Ont. His wife, Nancy Jane Pifer, died March 15, 1948. Mr. Pifer is survived by a son, Roy Pifer and four daughters, Mrs. John Neil, Mrs. Richard Moses, Mrs. Elmer Sharett and Mrs. Kiteley, all of Port Huron; 32 grandchildren, 29 great grandchildren, and several nieces and nephews. Funeral services will be at 1 p.m. Saturday in the Arthur Smith Funeral Home. Capt. David M. Paton, commandant of the local Salvation Army corps of which Mr. Pifer was a member, will officiate. Nelson Kiteley, Eugene Moses, Bernell Neil, Des Wolfe, Elton Pifer, and Clava Neil, all grandsons, will be pallbearers. Burial will be in North Fremont Cemetery, Sanilac County.
