She was born in Aldermanbury in the old part of London, England, daughter of John Jones and Ann Bowen. She died from injuries when she fell to the ground from between the connecting train cars while travelling from the south of France to Paris. She was buried in the local communal cemetery at Yerres, only a few miles from her destination, by her grandson, John Italo Cagnetta-Canetta who came from San Remo, Italy to make the arrangements.

She married George Mountain Bowen, a widower, on May 17,1866 in Windsor, England. They had two daughters.
(1) Lena Bowen (Feb.14,1867-Aug.3,1933) was born at 27 Grove Park, Toxteth Park, Liverpool, England and died in Pittsburgh, PA.
On Apr. 10, 1897 in Pontac, Jersey, Channel Islands, she married Cesare Cagnetta (Aug.24,1839-Feb.1928) who died in San Remo, Italy. They had three children - (a)Cesarina Alessandra Mary (Dec.16,1898-Feb.7,1990) born in Toronto and died in Cambridge, England wife of John Richard Hudson (Dec.19,1893-Feb.1961) and they had a daughter and a son; AND (b)John Italo (surname change to Canetta after move to the USA in 1924)(May 19,1900-Sept.9,1982) born in Como, Italy and died in Talahassee, Florida, husband of Nancy Katherine Walter (1906-2001) and they had a daughter and a son; and (c)George Mario (Aug.4,1903-Mar.8,1988)(surname change to Canetta after move to USA in 1926), married Elizabeth Sylvia Flint (Dec.2,1907-May 7,1993). Both died in Victoria, BC and were cremated. They adopted a daughter Betsy and a son Robert.

(2) Constance Maude Bowen (Feb. 1, 1871-
Mar. 3, 1947) was born at 27 Grove Park, Toxteth Park, Liverpool and died in Oakville, Ontario. Maude's first marriage was on Oct. 21, 1896 in Quebec City to Arthur Roland Williams (Jan. 25, 1869- Mar. 7, 1912) born in Holloway, Middlesex, England and died in Gravenhurst, Ontario. Their three children were - (a)Philip Edward (July 9,1897-Oct.22,
1918); (b)Stephen (Jan.8,1900-Dec.16,1929) husband of Evelyn Margaret Macdonell (1900-1930) and they had a daughter; AND (c)Andreana Hermine (Nov.30, 1901-May 25,
1988) wife of Charles Cecil Gunyon (June 2,
1899-Mar.26,1970) and they had a daughter and two sons.

After Roland's death, Maude married in 1930s to Charles Walker (Feb.27,1867-Sept.27,
1964), a banker. After her death Charles moved to BC and remarried again. He died there in Victoria.
