Richard R. Qualls, age 80, of Dunedin, Florida, peacefully passed away on January 27, 2016 after a brief stay at Sun Coast Hospice. Richard was born in Decatur, Illinois to Robbie and Arthur Qualls on March 30, 1935. He married Marion Mitoraj in Chicago, IL on August 25, 1956 at St. Pius V Cathiolic Church. Richard was a veteran, having honorably served in the United States Army. Richard worked in the industrial sales for Darling & Company and then on his own, founding QualCote, Inc in 1985. Richard and Marion raised their four children in Lockport and then Plainfield, Illinois. They retired to Honeymoon Island, Florida in 2001 where he was a member of Our Lady of Lourdes Catholic Church in Dunedin, Florida. Richard was one of ten children and is preceded in death by his beloved mother, Robbie Peterson, brother Art Qualls, sister Glenn Lyons and her husband Dale Lyons. Richard is survived by his wife of 59 years Marion, their children Daniel Qualls of Norton Shores, Michigan, his wife Susan, granddaughters Valerie Benham and Paige Breen. His son, Michael of Wylie, TX and his wife Susan, and granddaughters Jennifer Eisenbath and Amy Qualls. His son, Timothy of Oxford, CT, and his wife Amy, grandsons William and Sam. His daughter, Susan Yeazel of Downers Grove, IL her husband James and granddaughter Audrey.

Memorial Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Friday, June 24, 2016 at 10:30 AM at St. Mary Immaculate Catholic Church, 15629 S. Route 59, Plainfield, IL 60544. Inurnment to follow at Abraham Lincoln National Cemetery in Elwood, IL.
