14th known child of Thomas B. Burgh. Thomas in his will states:
Item: I give and bequeath to my son, Frederick Burge , all the remaining part of my land to hold to him and his heirs forever. But, if my son, Frederick Burge , should die before he comes to the age of twenty-one years old, then my Desire is that the land given him be equally divided between my two younger sons, Alexander Burge and Woodde Burge , and to hold to them and their heirs forever.

All the rest of my estate of Negroes and all other things of what nature and quality whatsoever, my will and Desire is that it be equally divided between my loving wife, Mary Burge and my children, hereafter named: Martha Pittillo, Priscilla Burge , James Burge , Nathaniel Burge , Amey Burge , Martha Burge , Frederick Burge , Woodde Burge , ALEXANDER BURGE and Sarah Burge .

Frederick. M. Burge , of Brunswick County, Va., was a Methodist, and his house had always been a resort for ministers of that Denomination. Frederick M. and Fannie (Brown) Burge ; the latter was a granddaughter of William Bradford, who was governor of Plymouth in colonial days. Frederick M. was a large planter and slave holder. His father came from England and settled in Brunswick County.

Elizabeth (Kelly) Burge [366.6] Elizabeth Kelly, posited daughter of Giles Kelly, married Frederick Burge in Brunswick County 16 January 1794. Samuel Kelly was surety and Giles Kelly was a witness. Rev. Aaron Brown conducted the wedding ceremony. Frederick Burge had bought 200 acres in Brunswick County from David Morgan in 1785. Frederick Burge Jr. paid personal property taxes in Brunswick County in 1800.

IN THE Of GOD AMEN. I Frederick Burge , senr, of the County of Brunswick, being of sound mind and memory, calling to recollection the uncertainty of this transitory life, do make and ordain this my last will and testament in manner of form following:
Imprimis. I lend unto my beloved wife Frances Burge all my estate both real & personal after my just Debts are paid, during her natural life or widowhood, and at the end of such time, I give all my Estate so lens of every kind and Description whatsoever to be equally divided between my three sons Westley Burge , William Burge and Asbury Burge to them and their heirs forever.
Item: As to my other children Priscilla Thompson, Polly Jones, Martha Coleman, Bradford Burge and Beverly Burge , my will is that they shall receive no part or portion of my estate but what I have already given to them, to them and their heirs forever.
I have my wife Frances Burge and my sons Wesley Burge and William Burge to execute this my last will and Testament hereby revoking and annulling all wills heretofore by me made. In testimony whereof I have hereunto set my hand and seal this 28th day of July in the year of our Lord 1814.

This last will and testament of Frederick Burge , senr, was proved by the Oath of John Abernathy II., a witness thereto and having been proved on the 26th day of September last by the Oaths of Joshua Lucy and Smith Hampton also witnesses thereto the same is ordered to be recorded and on the motion of Wesley Burge one of the Executors therein named who made oath thereto according to law and together with Joshua Lucy, Wright Tucker II. and Darville Thompson his securities entered into and acknowledged a bond in the penalty fifteen thond dollars conditioned according to law, certificate is granted him for obtaining a probate thereof in due form liberty being reserved the executrix and other exor. Therein named to join in the said probate when they may think proper.
