Mrs. Anita T. Ross, 96, of Devonshire Estates, Lenox, MA passed away Tuesday, May 3, 2016 at home. Born in Brooklyn on July 25, 1920, the daughter of Henry and Hilda Hendricks, she attended schools in Brooklyn. Mrs. Ross and her husband owned and operated Ross Pharmacy in Baldwin, Long Island which was a staple of the local business community. They moved to Lenox in 2009. She enjoyed playing bridge, canasta and Mahjong. Mrs. Ross was predeceased by her husband, Samuel R. Ross, who passed away on April 24, 2015; they were married on July 6, 1941 in Brooklyn, NY. She is survived by her three children, Dr. Charles Ross and his wife, Jane of Pittsfield, Dr. Stephen Ross of Rockville, MD and Dr. Paul Ross of Annandale, VA; a brother in law, Ed Rasky and his wife, Sonny of West Hills, CA; 7 grandchildren, Jenna Romanoff and her husband, Danny, Adam Ross and his wife, Kate, Michael Ross and his wife, Laura, William Van Helden and his wife, Anna, Cheryl Hanley and her husband, Mike, Jacqueline Westermann and her husband, Ray and Patricia Toner and her husband, Robert; 9 great grandchildren, Jacob, Jennifer Just and her husband, Andrew, Christopher, Matthew, Ryan, Kirsten, Samantha, Ashley and Abby-Rose and one great- great grandchild, Ava. She was predeceased by her two brothers, Jack Hendricks and Melvin Hendricks and a sister Martha Belfor. Funeral services for Mrs. Anita T. Ross will take place Friday, May 6, 2016 at 10 a.m. at the Massachusetts Veterans' Memorial Cemetery, 1390 Main St., Agawam, MA 01001. There are no calling hours. Anyone wishing to attend the funeral should meet inside the cemetery gates at 9:45 a.m. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Berkshire Hematology Oncology, care of the Dwyer Funeral Home, 776 North St., Pittsfield MA 01201, in her memory.
