He died Sunday, Dec. 23, 2001 at Carlisle Regional Medical Center.
Born Oct. 7, 1915 in Lower Frankford Township, he was the son of the late Harvey E. and Armeda Wickard Shughart and the widower of Aurella House Shughart.
A life-long Carlisle area farmer, he was a member of the Hickorytown United Methodist Church, Carlisle.
Mr. Shughart is survived by a daughter, Joyce M. Palm of Carlisle; a son, J. Earl Shughart of Carlisle; a brother, Edgar W. Shughart of Carlisle; three sisters, Elma Sheaffer, Erma Baldwin and Ruth Jones, all of Carlisle; and four grandchildren.
Friends may call from 12:30 p.m. until the time of the service, which will be officiated by the Rev. Chris E. Renner. Burial will be in Letort Cemetery in Middlesex Township.
