Born on July 12, 1941 in Silver Spring Township, she was the daughter of Floyd J. and Aurella S. (House) Shughart.
A member of the Boiling Springs Class of 1959, Joyce worked as a bookkeeper/tax preparer for forty-four years, employed by William H. McKeon & Associates, John P. Hassler Associates, and lately, Opossum Lake Tax Accounting. Joyce was a member of St. Matthew Evangelical Lutheran Church, Plainfield. She enjoyed reading, word search puzzles, and music, especially gospel music. Joyce faithfully supported the work of the Newville, Carlisle, Cumberland County, and PA State Sunday School Associations, WPFG Christian radio station, and Project Share.
Joyce is survived by her husband of fifty years, John H. Palm, her children Johnna and Jeff, all of Carlisle, her brother J. Earl Shughart of Mount Holly Springs, and a large extended family. She was predeceased by her parents.
