Lawrence "Larry" passed away peacefully in Daly City on April 30, 2016, with his wife and daughter by his side.
Larry was born on December 13, 1942 in Waco, Texas as the youngest of 6 children from Luther Minnix and Hattie Bishop.
He is survived by his wife of 50 years; daughter; son-in-law ; sisters; brother-in-law and cousins, nieces, and nephews.
Preceded in death by his brothers, Billy Gene, George Carroll, and Luther Fred; and father and mother-in-law Frank and Flora Muhlebach.
Larry had a colorful childhood and attended Waco High School. At the age of 17, he entered the United States Navy. While stationed in Hawaii he met Linda on her vacation. After discharge, Larry moved to San Francisco and later they were married. In 1967 they moved to the Westlake area of Daly City and three years later were blessed with the birth of their daughter, Jeannene. He adored his daughter and they shared a beautiful relationship. He was a very supportive father and could always count on her.
Larry worked in the paint manufacturing industry for nearly 40 years. His career began at Danacolors as a paint laborer and eventually advanced to become Vice President of Operations.
He was very creative and talented and enjoyed working in his home and garden where the fruits of his labor can be found. He loved the beautiful birds in the garden and the many cats he cared for over the years including a colony of feral cats he fed for nearly a decade.
"Waco" Larry loved his entire family in California and Texas and had a special relationship with his mother and father-in-law. He was kind and caring with a memorable personality, and loved by all. The family is grateful for the love and support from family and friends and to all of the healthcare professionals that treated him during his illness.
Interment will follow at Holy Cross Cemetery.
