US Soldier killed at the Battle of the Little Big Horn. Pvt Scott enlisted into the army on November 20, 1873, at Ft Lincoln, Dakota Territory. He was described a 5'9", brown hair, blue eyes with a fair complexion. Scott was assigned to Company L, 7th Cavalry Regiment. Company L was commanded by 1st Lt James Calhoun. Calhoun was LTC George A Custer's and Captain Tom Custer' brother-in-law. His daily duties were herder and quartermaster teamster. On August 17, 1875, Scott was thrown from a mule and ran over by a wagon. The incident kept him off duty for two months with fractures to his leg. At the Battle of the Little Bighorn, Company L was attached to LTC Custer's Battalion. Scott was killed during the battle. After the battle, burial details were unable to identify Scott's remains. It is likely he was buried where his unidentified remains were found. In 1881 all known battlefield burials were moved to a mass grave on Last Stand Hill.
