David H. Ranly, age 90, became a resident of heaven on Monday, May 2, 2016. David was a US Navy World War II veteran, a member of the Plumbers and Pipefitter Union Local 189, and an active parishioner at St. Matthew the Apostle Catholic Church for 48 years, where he enjoyed attending daily Mass and Rosary services. David was preceded in death by his parents Joseph and Veronica Ranly, his brothers Ralph, Jerome and Richard, his grandson Ricky, his beloved wife Frances of 42 years, and his wife Doris whom he married at age 81. He will be greatly missed by friends and family members; daughters, Ann Ranly and Susan (Michael) Widdig; grandchildren, Florence (Alexander) Stewart and Jamil Baransi; and sister, Marcele Kelly. Family will welcome guests from 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. on Friday, May 6, 2016 at SCHOEDINGER NORTHEAST CHAPEL, 1051 E. Johnstown Road, Gahanna, where a prayer service will take place at 3:30 p.m. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held 10 a.m. Saturday, May 7, 2016 at St. Matthew the Apostle Church, 807 Havens Corners Road, Gahanna, Ohio 43230. Interment to follow at Holy Cross Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to David's favorite charity; Brothers of the Holy Cross, PO Box 460, Notre Dame, IN 46556.
