FLORENCE - Minerva Chandler Williamson, 96, died Wednesday, Jan. 28, 2004, in a local hospital following an illness.

Born Sept. 8, 1907, in Darlington County, she was a daughter of the late Daniel Wells and Zelma Weaver Chandler.

She was a dietitian in Florence School District #1. She was a member of Immanuel Baptist Church.
She was married to Edward Charles Williamson, who predeceased her.

She is survived by a daughter, Patricia Williamson Bradford of Danville, Va.; a sister, Lillian Wilkes of Hartsville; eight grandchildren and 14 great-grandchildren.

She was predeceased by two sons, Gene Wesley Williamson and Charles Edward Williamson; one daughter, Iona "Nonnie" Lee; two sisters, Rachel Player and Ruth Richards; and two brothers, James Chandler and Wallace Chandler.

The funeral will be held at 11 a.m. Saturday at Cain Funeral Home Chapel with the Rev. Jerry Aiken officiating. Interment will follow in Mount Hope Cemetery.

The family will receive friends from 7 to 8 p.m. Friday at the residence of Diana Williamson, 652 Warley St., Florence.
