Melvin J. Fish, 93 of Inverness, Fl died Tuesday, April 26, 2016 under the care of HPH Hospice and New Horizons Senior Citizens Home staff. He was born in Falmouth, Massachusetts on October 20, 1922 to the late Jehial and Marcella (MacGilvary) Fish.
Melvin is survived by his sister Adeline Milanese and brother Donald Fish both of Falmouth, Massachusetts and several nieces and nephews. He is predeceased by his late wife Lillian Fish and brothers Paul Fish and Jehial Fish.
Melvin graduated from Falmouth High school prior to entering the US Army Air Corps during WWII. Melvin pursued a career as a commercial painter in Falmouth for many years following WWII before relocating to Florida in 2009.
Funeral services for Melvin will be conducted on Tuesday, May 3, 2016 at 1:00 PM from the Chas. E. Davis Funeral Home of Inverness. Burial will follow at the Florida National Cemetery, Bushnell, FL with full military honors. Friends may call at the funeral home on Tuesday from 11:00 AM until service time.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests that memorial donations in Melvin's name be made to the United Way of Massachusetts; 51 Sleeper St, Boston MA 02210. Condolences may be offered on line at Chronicleonline.com.
